Pamala Anita Burton

Pamela Anita Burton passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 31, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Chicago, IL, November 22, 1960, daughter of the late Ola May Burton and Roy Jones. Pamela graduated from Wendell Phillips Academy High School. In 1992 she moved to Racine.

Pamela’s passion was her family. She was a care giver to many, but family always came first. She was known for taking care of everyone. She had a good sense of humor, loved to dance and always the life of the party. Pamela was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Surviving to cherish her memory include her husband of 45 years, Thomas Hughes; her 6 children, Pamela Burton, Tamieka Burton, Thomas Burton, Tyreese (Rashaun) Burton, Tonyo Burton, Tikkia Burton; 31 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lionel, Lenell and Ronald.

A Homegoing celebration will be held at the Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St., Friday, June 12, 2026, 11 am. Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 11 am.
