Patricia Ann Obernberger, age 83, passed away with her family by her side, Thursday, July 4, 2024. She was born in Racine, June 13, 1941, daughter of the late Harry and Patricia (Nee: McDonald) Peters.

Pat was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School, “Class of 1959”. On June 1, 1963, Pat was united in marriage to Fred Obernberger. Pat dedicated her life to the betterment of Racine. She served as alderman for many years in the 1st and 2nd district. Pat was instrumental with the development of the West Park Assoc, Racine Festival Park and proactive with the downtown revitalization. Pat was a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church, Preservation Racine and a collector and love for antiques. Above all it was time spent with her family that she cherished most.

Pat was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by her husband, Fred of 61 years; children, Erika Obernberger, Ann Marie (Dennis) Harmann, Fritz (Amy) Obernberger; 5 grandchildren, Madeline Johnson (fiancé, Robin Zwickey), Maxwell Johnson, Gracie Harmann, Victoria Obernberger, Olivia Obernberger; sister, Harriet Newman; brother-in-law, David (Bonnie) Obernberger; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parent’s she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Ed Newman, Ron and Wayne Obernberger.

A Memorial Service celebrating Pat’s life will be held at the funeral home, 11:30 am, Thursday, July 18, 2024, with Rev. Ken Mich officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Thursday, 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers donations in Pat's name can go to Downtown Racine Corporation or 4th Fest of Greater Racine Inc.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Home Inspired and Hospice Alliance for their loving and compassionate care shown to Pat.
