Paul E. Oberst

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Edward Oberst, who passed away on June 11, 2026, at the age of 67.

Paul was born on March 6, 1959, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Frank and Judith Oberst. He will be remembered for his remarkable strength and perseverance in the face of numerous health challenges. Those who knew Paul witnessed his courageous and determined battle with prostate cancer, a fight he faced with unwavering resilience and hope.

Paul’s proudest accomplishment was his two daughters, whom he loved deeply and spoke of often. A close second was earning his nursing degree and becoming a registered nurse, a profession that reflected his compassionate nature and desire to care for others. Although health challenges forced him to step away from his nursing career far too soon, he always carried great pride in that achievement. To those who knew him, he will always be Paul Oberst, RN.

Despite the obstacles he faced, Paul continued to pursue his passion for travel, exploring the country in his RV, and finding joy in the beauty of nature and historic landmarks. His resilience, love for his family, and enduring spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Paul is survived by his wife Deanne (Dee) Oberst (nee: Murphy), two daughters Megan Dunk and Marie Oberst, three grandchildren Cori, Shelby, and Mason Dunk, sister Lisa [John] Caspers, and beloved extended family. He was preceded in death by his father Frank, mother Judith, and sister Lynn.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 11:30 am at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Tuesday at 10:00 am until time of service.
