Life Story / Obituary
Penelope Lou “Penny” Grant, age 83, passed away Thursday October 22, 2026 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Penelope was born in San Francisco, CA on January 30, 1943, daughter of the late Louis and Bernice (nee: Krogh) Ruffalo.
Penny graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1961”. On May 14, 1966, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Penny was united in marriage to the love of her life, Harold N. Grant. They raised a daughter, Lisa, and shared fifty-six wonderful years together before Harold passed away in 2022. In her younger years, she was employed at Thrifty Sandys and then with Lathrop Furniture for over twenty years before retiring. She was a member of Vittoria Colonna at Roma Lodge where also enjoyed playing bocce with her friends. She was a diehard Cubs fan and loved going to the casino to play the slots. She also enjoyed going to play trivia with her cousin and friends 2 nights a week. More than anything, Penny will be remembered for her great love and dedication to her family.
Penny will be dearly missed by her daughter, Lisa Grant (Kelly Graham); granddaughter, Amanda Grant (Steven Djurich); her great grandsons whom she adored, Mason and Blake; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth Grant and Jerry Esch; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Penny was also preceded in death by her brother, Dan Ruffalo.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 4 pm until 6 pm with A celebration of Penny’s Life to start at 6 pm with Fr. Kenneth Mich officiating. All are encouraged to dress in your favorite sports team colors. Private interment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
