Peter R. LaBrasca, age 83 years, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on August 23, 2013. He was born in Racine, Wisconsin on August 2, 1930, son of the late John and Helen (DeMark) LaBrasca.

Peter was united in marriage to Agnes C. (nee: Bergemann) in Racine on April 16, 1955 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1948 and obtained a B. S. degree in Mathematics from Marquette University in 1958. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Healy DD672. Peter was employed by the Louis Allis Co. in Milwaukee, Computer Services Inc., and EDS in Racine as a computer programmer from 1959 to 1992. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and was active at St. Paul’s in a number of different capacities. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife, Agnes; two sons, James of Muskego, Wisconsin and Christian of Austin, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeni (Joe) Carey of Brown Deer, Wisconsin and Ceci (Joe) Pieroni of Richfield, Wisconsin; two granddaughters, Sara and Meg Carey; two brothers, Roger (Cheryl) of West Des Moines, Iowa and John (Ellen) of Racine; one sister, Esther Kiernan of Racine; one brother-in-law, Joe (Jeanne) Bergemann of Racine, and one sister-in-law, Sr. Mary Hope Bergemann; many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother-in-law, Tom Kiernan, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and friends.

Visitation will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Hwy. 32. Memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Church or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested by the family.

Peter’s family wishes to thank the nurses at Wheaton-Franciscan Hospice, especially Mary, Julie, and Isaac for their compassionate care of Peter in his last days.
