Peter Ronald Walquist, age 78, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Zilber Family Hospice, Wauwatosa. He was born in Racine, WI, June 16, 1947, son of the late Harold and Evelyn (Nee: Eliason) Walquist.

Peter attended Washington Park High School “Class of 1965”. He proudly served in the U.S. Army 1966 - 1968 stationed in Vietnam and Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. On May 2, 1969, in Racine he was united in marriage to Susan J. Olstinske. Peter owned and operated Mechanical Associates of Wisconsin (MAWI) for 34 years retiring in 2018. He enjoyed boating and was a member of Harbor Lite Yacht Club. He will be remembered for his love of dogs, his enjoyment of traveling, going on cruises, riding motorcycles, watching Gunsmoke and of his time spent in Florida. Above all he treasured time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Susan; daughters, Carrie (Jeff) Grissom, Melissa (Joseph) Schlichting; grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, Brenna, Summer, and Piper; sister, Nancy (Stanley) Druckrey; brother, Paul Walquist; in-laws, Dale (Joan) Olstinske, Randy Olstinske; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

A memorial service with full military honors will be held at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St, Friday, December 5, 2025, 10:30 am with Rev. Sue Barham officiating. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 9:30 am -10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Assn or ones favorite Veterans group have been suggested.
