Richard Jay Jonas, “Dick”, age 73, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at Ascension All Saints Hospital. He was born in Racine, WI, August 16, 1950, the 3rd of 13 children of the late Donald and Evelyn (Nee: Braun) Jonas.

Dick graduated from Wm Horlick High School “Class of 1969”. On September 11, 1971, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Willing who preceded him in death December 16, 2014. Dick was employed by The Abbott Company of Milwaukee for 25 years.

Dick was an avid reader and history buff. He enjoyed neighborhood get togethers and will be remembered as a good conversationalist who enjoyed engaging with family and friends about politics, sports and or just about anything. Above all his passion was being a dad and he treasured the time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his daughter, Lisa Poineau of Naperville, IL; son, Luke Jonas of Madison; granddaughter, Kate Poineau; his wife, Diane Blackmon; stepdaughter, Laura (David) Olson; step grandchildren, Evan and Eleanor Olson; siblings, Kathy (John) Sardino, Susan Jonas, William Jonas, James (Silvia) Jonas, Donald (Christina) Jonas; in-laws, Delanne Jonas, Patricia (Ken) Russell, Gerold (Georgianna) Willing, Veronica Shea, Janice (Alan) Gnacinski; nieces, nephews, other relatives, many dear friends and his four legged companion, KayKay. In addition to his parents and wife Mary Ann, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Thomas, Jeffrey, John, Joe, Gerard; sister, Sharon; and brother-in-law Ken Shea.

Funeral services will be held at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Rd, Saturday, February 24, 2024, 11:30 am with Pastor Beth Ann Stone officiating. Relatives and friends may meet at the church prior to the service 10:30-11:30 am. Private interment will be held at St. Ann Cemetery, Stoughton, WI.
