Life Story / Obituary
Richard John Rothen
03/26/34 - 02/17/21
Richard J. Rothen went home on February 17th, 2021 due to complications of a tragic fall.
Richard was born in Buffalo, NY and was the only child of Joseph and Amelia (nee Wallace) Rothen.
Known for his wit and dry humor, he was known as the ‘boy who had a pet skunk’. He didn’t really have a pet skunk, but he thought it was cool to be in the local paper.
Throughout his life he was known to be a hardworking, successful businessman that allowed him to travel the country and live in beautiful places including Mexico.
He was known as ‘Buppa’ to his best friend and grandson, Daniel. Richard spent most of his days doing what he loved most, playing with his grandson – and loving every minute of it.
Richard will live on in the hearts of his wife, Kathy (nee Drew), his children, Ricky, Michael, Debra, David, Joelle (Vince) and Shaun (Thomas), his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
He is preceded in death by his Joseph (father), Amelia (mother), his first wife Betty Jane and his daughter Lisa.
“The love and the laughter will live on long after all of the sadness and tears.”
Funeral arrangements made through the gracious Maresh, Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home in Racine, WI.
Due to Covid concerns, services will be a private memorial and cremation service.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local animal rescue service.
