Life Story / Obituary
Richard Lee Bochek, age 64, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, October 14, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on June 5, 1960, son of the late Eugene P. and Patricia A. (Nee: Lehman) Bochek.
Rick was a graduate of Case High School. In his earlier years, along with his brother on guitar, he was the drummer in a rock band. He was affectionately known as a “Herper” and in addition to being a reptile enthusiast, he loved a wide assortment of his"critters", from fish, snakes, tarantulas, and a variety of lizards and praying mantis, which he bred. Rick had a green thumb and shared his green baby "pups" with all that would take them. A huge heart, Rick was an excellent care giver to his parents, girlfriend and many others. He also dedicated his time to helping many people at Our Harmony Club. Rick taught the world how to live with disability with grace, patience and acceptance.
He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his siblings, Peter S. Bochek, Dawn M. (Stephen) Wolf, Mike A. (Karen) Bochek, Kathleen A. Bochek, Susan J. (Dennis) Marion; niece and nephews, Kristel L. Marion, Quentin T. Bochek, Austin A. (Rikka) Iverson, Timothy N. Wolf, Michael S. (Kristina) Wolf; great niece and nephews, Mariella M. Bochek, Robert M. Wolf, George L. Wolf; special extended family, the Krenke’s; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parent’s, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Kathleen “Kathy” J. Resop.
A Memorial Service celebrating Rick’s life will be held at 11:00 am, Monday October 21, 2024, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 40 Ohio St., with Rev. Jenny Gleichauf officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Monday, 10:00 am until time of service at the church. Private interment will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Memorials to Our Harmony Club have been suggested by the family.
