Ricky Long

Ricky Long, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday October 15, 2024 at his residence. Ricky was born in Racine on March 24, 1962, son of the late Eugene and Minnie (nee: Gibbs) Long.

He attended Washington Park High School. For the past twenty years, Ricky enjoyed scrapping, always in search of the next treasure. In his spare time, he enjoyed racing cars in his younger years, hunting outdoors and his dogs. Ricky will be remembered for his hard work ethic, his sense of humor and his great love for his family.

Ricky will be dearly missed by his children, Ushika Long (Derrick Seay), Jharvan Bridges, Lachisa Bridges; grandchildren, Kenyon Canady, Infinity Robinson, Aarion Gamble, Imarion Holder, D’erick Seay, Skylar Seay, Jeremiah Bridges, Jaivion Bridges, and London Bridges; sister, Dorothy Long; brother, Andrew Long; former wife, Marilyn Hudson; special nephew, Danon Long; special cousins, Joseph Cathey, Edward “Preacher” Parker, Wanda Parker and Diahanna Katt; best friend, Mose Cox; race car buddy, Billy Morris; scrapping buddy, Ron Ferris; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Ricky was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Ned Brown Jr. and by his very special friend and mother of his daughter, Valerie Bridges.

There will be a private family Celebration of Ricky’s Life at a future date.
