Rita Buchholz

Rita A. Buchholz, age 79, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at her residence. Rita was born in Racine, December 20, 1932, daughter of the late Charles and Anne (Nee: Mueller) Veselik. On August 28, 1954, at St. Rita Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Wilmer “Willie” L. Buchholz, who preceded her in death February 4, 2000. Rita was a lifelong and active member of St. Rita Catholic Church. In her younger years she taught at St. Rita School and Burbank Elementary.

Survivors include her children, Pam (Tom) Newell of Winona, MN, Chris Kemp (Al Herman) of Maple Grove, MN, Karen Buchholz (Bobby Swears) of Boise, ID, Jim (Patty) Buchholz of Racine, Gary (Mary) Buchholz of Racine, Theresa Buchholz (Brian Roper) of Bay View, WI; 8 grandchildren, Alex, Joe, Mike and Pete Buchholz, Dan, Katie, Lilly, and Alyson Buchholz; sister and brother, Dorothy (George) Eftemoff of Racine, Don (Rose) Veselik of Racine; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Alan) Breitbach, Helen Hvizdak, Robert (Lillian) Buchholz, Mary Ann (Marcel) Herrick, Nelda (Ted) Nowacki, Larry Buchholz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends including special friends, Ted and Lorrie Kroes, and Julia Olson. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Chuck (Judy) Veselik; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Orvilla (John) Cisewski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 27, 2011, 11:00 A.M. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Avenue. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Tuesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to St. Rita Catholic Church have been suggested.
