Life Story / Obituary
Robert B. Sadlon, known fondly as Bob, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the age of 77. Born in Racine, Wisconsin, on January 14, 1949, he was the beloved son of the late Paul and Jeanette (Schwab) Sadlon.
Bob graduated from Washington Park High School in 1967 and continued his studies at UW LaCrosse. He began his career as a cable splicer with the Wisconsin Telephone Company, advancing through the years and retiring after over 30 years of dedicated service, finishing his tenure with AT&T. On June 1, 1974, Bob married the love of his life, Kathleen Soens, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Together, they shared 46 wonderful years before Kathleen’s passing in 2020.
A proud member of CWA Local 5511 and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bob was passionate about sports, especially golf. He was a longtime committee member and supporter of The Racine Junior Masters Golf Tournament. Bob also cheered enthusiastically for the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Chicago Cubs. Beyond his family, Bob cherished the friendships he formed at Johnson Park Golf Course, where he found great joy and camaraderie. Above all, Bob was a devoted husband, father, and friend who touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Melissa Sadlon (Rick Schuebel); in-laws Donna Sadlon, Richard Wendt, and Lynn Mullis; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Kathy; his sister, Patricia Wendt; brother, Dennis Sadlon; and his sister-in-law, Barb (Jim) Cramer.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main Street with Reverend Ken Mich officiating. Family and friends may gather from 10–11 a.m. prior to the service. Private entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on Hwy 32.
