With his family by his side, Robert “Bob” W. Garrity, age 80, passed away at his residence. He was born in Chicago, Il, April 7, 1944, son of the late James and Helen (Nee: Whalen) Garrity Jr.

Bob graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1962 and proudly served his country in the US Army from 1965-1967 and was a Viet Nam Veteran. On September 5, 1970, Bob was united in marriage to Cheryl Luedtke at Holy Name Catholic Church. He was employed by American Bank and then by David Insurance for over 24 years. Bob was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he also chaired the church festival for years. He was a member and past president for both the Racine Jaycees and the Tuesday Optimist Club. He had a great love for music and every genre and chaired the music for Salmon-A-Rama for over 10 years. Above all it was time spent with family that he cherished most.

He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his wife, Cheryl of 54 years; children, Christopher (Melissa) Garrity, Jennifer (Nick) Willis; four grandchildren, Jesse, Carter, Adrian and Keagan; sister, Rosemary (Dominic) Cariello; sister-in-law, Ann Garrity; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Garrity III, Michael Garrity (John Manning), father and mother-in-law, Russell and Marie Luedtke and a special aunt, Dorothy Garrity.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Bob's life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave.with Rev. Ricardo Martin officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy. 32. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home, also Friday, 10:00 am, until time of Mass at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Catherine's High School, Hospice Alliance or Stars and Stripes Wisconsin Honor Flight have been suggested by the family.

A very special thank you to Dr. Steven Johnson, Senior Helpers, especially Liz and Stephanie, Hospice Alliance and the team at Caledonia Fire and Rescue Department and all their wonderful neighbors both old and new for their loving and compassionate care shown to Bob and family.
