Bob graduated from Racine Horlick High School. He was an accomplished trombonist who furthered his studies at UW-Whitewater graduating in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education; later earning his Master of Science in Teaching Music degree in 1981. On May 30, 1970, that lucky guy was united in marriage to Corynne Corman who stayed married to him for nearly 43 years before her passing on May 16, 2013. Bob and Cory were both teachers for Racine Unified School District. He taught instrumental music beginning at Jerstad - Agerholm Junior High School and retiring from JI Case High School in 2005, while Cory taught mathematics. After retirement, the two moved to Pueblo, Colo. After Cory’s passing, Bob married Sharman Turek and moved back to Waterford, Wis. Bob was proud to have been a jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing, water skiing, brewing beer and wine vinification, landscaping, woodworking, and flying the Avid Experimental Aircraft he built in his garage.
Surviving are his four children, Robert (Brenna) Hyatt, III, Abigail (Daniel) Erickson, William Hyatt, and Kathryn (Peter Scheibel) Bastien; seven grandchildren, Chloe and Calla Hyatt, Logan Hyatt, Xavier and Lily Erickson, Elijah and Esme Bastien; sister, Judith (Jeffrey) Kraschnewski; former wife, Sharman Turek; nieces, nephews, other relatives, former students and friends.
