Robert I. Gabbey
RACINE – Robert I. Gabbey, 88, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at
All Saints Hospital in Racine. Robert most recently resided at Elizabeth Gardens Apartments in Racine.
Robert was born in Racine on July 13, 1927 to William & Mary Gabbey.
Robert served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII in Europe. Robert worked for the City of Racine Wastewater Utility for well over thirty years.
Robert grew up and spent most of his adult life in Racine. He Married Therese Ramig on June 19, 1953.
Robert is survived by his son, William (Frances Susan) Gabbey, stepson George Ramig, six grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his brother, Victor (Edith) Gabbey. Robert is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other family & friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, his brothers and their wives, Les & Margaret Gabbey, Howard & Betty Gabbey, John & June Gabbey, and Richard Gabbey, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Christ (Elith) Ramig, Fred (Maxine) Ramig, Alex Ramig, and Karl Ramig and by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha (Andrew) Thilleman. Robert’s ashes will be interred in a private family service. Memorials to the Salvation Army have been suggested.
