Ronald G. Favro, age 67, joined his heavenly Father peacefully, with family and friends at his side at Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, on May 31, 2011. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York, September 22, 1943, son of the late Gerald “Cy” and Thelma (Nee: Darrah) Favro.

Ron was raised in Phoenix, AZ and was a 1961 graduate of Washington High School where he enjoyed running track, playing trombone in the band, and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Ron earned his Masters of Education from Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio in the late 1980’s and taught in their MBA program for a number of years. Ron was in the telecommunications industry for thirty-five years and retired from AT & T. He ended his working life as a mortgage loan officer in 2010. Ron was an Air Force Reservist for fourteen years and had his private pilot license. He was a proud member of Roma Lodge, was an avid reader, loved his faith, history, and a good scotch. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Cathy (Nee: Colleran); his son, Kevin (Kerry) Favro of Cincinnati, OH; his daughter, Erin (Ty) White of Columbus, OH; his six precious grandchildren, Marian, Madalyne, Marina and Mason Favro, Owen and Brian White; brother, Dave (Bonnie) Favro of Show Low, AZ; brother-in-law, Michael Colleran of Pocatello, ID; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Favro.

Ron was a loving husband, devoted father, proud “Grampy”, cherished friend, and will be sadly missed and forever loved.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 3, 2011, 4:00 P.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street, with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Interment will be held at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Montgomery, Ohio. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 2:00 P.M. until time of Mass at 4:00 P.M.
