Ronald Ward Shumann, age 89, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Ascension All Saints Hospital with his family at his side. He was born in Manitowoc, WI, July 27, 1934, the 3rd of 4 children of the late Russell and Kate (Nee: Jacobsen) Shumann.

Ron grew up in Racine and graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1952”. He was employed by Wisconsin Amusement in 1959 and later purchased the business, forming Racine Amusement and retired as owner/operator in 1988. Ron was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan and Racine Raider Fan. He held season tickets to both teams and was a longtime volunteer with the Raiders. His volunteering also included the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and the Kiwanis Club. Ron enjoyed traveling, driving and road trips. He will be remembered as being very independent and at times stubborn but above all as a loving father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his daughter, Rhonda Beth; granddaughters, Stacey Beth, Theresa Beth; grandchildren, Saige and Kashton Barnes; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Audrey (Roger) Thomas, Dwight (Harriett) Shumann, and Marilynn Wozniak.

A time to gather with the family will be held at the funeral home, Friday, May 17, 2024, 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Racine Raiders, the Barth Syndrome Foundation or the ALS Association have been suggested.
