Life Story / Obituary
Shane Michael Campbell, age 47, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 25th, 2026.
Shane grew up playing many sports, especially baseball and basketball. In his teens and twenties, he developed a deep love for cars. His first car was an IROC Camaro, which he worked on constantly, before eventually owning his sought-after, fully customized Suburban.
Professionally, Shane worked as a machinist and later became a tool and die maker. Shane was a true foodie who loved trying new recipes and cooking. He had a true passion for working with his CNC machine, where his creativity and craftsmanship came together. His work led to many requested woodworking projects, and he took great pride and joy in turning his own ideas and the ideas of others into something they could hold, use, and cherish.
His other passions included hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors with the people he loved. Some of his most precious memories were made with friends, family, and his beloved fur buddies. He also shared many cherished rounds of golf with his dad, creating memories they would treasure for years to come.
He had a love for animals since he was young. When he married Sarah and adopted her German Shepherd, he discovered a whole new kind of companionship—a bond shared between a German Shepherd and their chosen human. Shane had three German Shepherds, Jessica, Shelby, and Shilo. One of his later passions was Schutzhund training with his GSD, Shilo, whom he called his girl. Shilo was with him when he was called to his final resting place and survived him in death.
Shane moved through the world with an intoxicating energy, one that showed up through acts of kindness, compassion, and pure love—restoring dignity to a world that, at times, would fracture him, but never fractured his will to give to others.
If you were in need, he would say, “Tell me the time and the place, and I’ll be there.”
His measure of life wasn’t found in bringing attention to himself, but in the accumulation of giving freely to others. Shane understood that the greatest mark we leave behind is found in the lives that we touch.
He leaves behind many loving friends and family members who will carry his memory and continue to honor the love he gave so freely.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, Inesa Vrublevskis, and his father, Michael Campbell.
He is survived by his brother Tony (Kathy) Ellingson; brother Chris Messick; sister Angela Messick-Thornburg; niece Courtney (Dustin) Kollman; nephew Tyler Ellingson; stepmom Glenda (Mike)Campbell; stepsister Carma (Brad)Bryan; stepsister Tonya (Ryan)Peck; many nieces nephews,
and his ex-wife and friend Sarah Milkie.
A memorial gathering for Shane will be held at Infusino’s Banquet Hall, 3201 Rapids Drive in Racine, Wisconsin, 53404. on Sunday, October 11th, from 3 to 6 PM.
All who knew and loved him are welcome to gather, remember, and share the impact Shane had on their lives
