Shaylani May Williams, age 15, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, due to an accidental drowning. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, May 25, 2025, daughter of Christian Candelaria and Debbie Williams.

Shaylani loved running. When she was in 8th grade she was on Girls On The Run, a running program, and proudly completed a 5k run. She was looking forward to becoming a sophomore at Horlick High School in the fall. Shaylani was on the wrestling team last year and planned on continuing that throughout high school. Shaylani was excited to start applying for jobs. After learning that her older brother, Marco, planned on enlisting in the Marines, Shaylani wanted to pursue a career as a military nurse. She had a great love of music, especially rap, hanging out with her girlfriends, make up, piercings, and making cookies with her “Glamma”. Above all, it was time spent with her family and friends that she cherished most.

She was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by her parents, Christian and Debbie; brother Marco and sister Essence; grandmother, Elizabeth Villalobos; grandfather, Carlos Morales; loving aunts, uncles other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Wannita Williams, her aunt Angela Morales and her furry friends, Max and Chiquis.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Shaylani’s life will be held at 4:00 pm, Friday, August 8, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1100 Erie St. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation Friday at 2:00 pm until time of Mass at the church.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin for their loving care and compassion; to the Rescue Team that relentlessly searched for and found Shaylani; and to Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home for their compassion and generosity.
