Shirley M. LaBoda

With her family by her side, Shirley M. LaBoda, age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at her residence. Shirley was born in Gillett, WI, September 24, 1926, daughter of the late Alvin and Marie (Nee: Klavitter) Kitchenmaster.

On January 11, 1954 she was united in marriage to Frank J. LaBoda Sr., who preceded her in death, January 24, 1997. An avid Packer and Brewer fan, Shirley also enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, scratch off lottery tickets, and was considered the “Neighborhood Watch Captain”. However, her greatest joy was when her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren shared stories of their accomplishments with her. Within seconds Grandma would be sharing those stories with other family members and friends! She was a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #281 and former member of St. Lucy Catholic Church.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Sheryl D’Acquisto, Sally (August) Dahl, Frank (Gloria) LaBoda Jr., Karenann Karaba, Susan (Gary) Craanen; son-in-law, Robert Bokelman; 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 40 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Chieko Kitchenmaster; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Bokelman; son-in-law, Joseph D’Acquisto; grandson, Raymond Loendorf; 3 sisters, Phyllis, Jean, and Patricia; and brother, James.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 16, 2015, 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m.
