Skyler Thomas

Skyler Thomas, age 36, of Racine, WI, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026, at University of Wisconsin Hospitals the result of a senseless gun violence. He was born in Bridgeport, CT, July 24, 1990, son of the late Shirley Thomas Wilson and James K. Chestnut.

Skyler moved to Racine in 2008 and had worked at J.I. Case Co. He was a avid sports fan and will be remembered for his sense of humor and sense of family. He was a class clown and loved to crack jokes and make people laugh. Above all he loved children and treasured the time spent with family. He will dearly missed.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his siblings, Tamra Thomas, Kristen (Brittney) Thomas, Desmond R. Totten, Gregory (Jordan) Guyott, Tonyo Burton; his grandmother, Clara D. Kelly; his significant other, Melissa Hernandez; aunt, Yolanda Rowe; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandma, Blondell Hensley and his second mother, Pamela Burton.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held at the Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St., Thursday, October 8, 2026, 11 am. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10-11 am.
