Susan E. Hellesen

Susan E. “Sue” Hellesen, age 72, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee. Susan was born in Racine, September 1, 1943, daughter of the late William and Hilda (Nee: Christenson) Theres.

On October 14, 1967 at St. Joseph Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Harold “Harry” L. Hellesen who preceded her in death on January 12, 2002. Sue was employed by the Racine Unified School District for seventeen years. She was a former member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Sue had a great love for animals, ladybugs, and enjoyed volunteering at Hope Safehouse. Most of all she cherished time spent with her family.

Sue will be dearly missed by her children, Randy (Heidi) Hellesen of Slinger, Amy (James) Dehne of Racine; her four grandchildren, Scott and Hannah Hellesen, Autumn and Austin Dehne; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was precede in death by her daughter, Heide on May 1, 1975; and brother, James Theres.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 23, 2015, 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until time of service at 7:00 P.M. Private interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
