Susan M. Stratman

Susan M. Stratman left this earthly realm on Sunday, December 11, 2022 in Racine WI where she was born and lived for most of her 77 years. Susan was born on July 17, 1945, the 4th of 6 children of the late Rodney and Ruth (Nee: Thomas) Merrill.

Susan graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1963”. On May 20, 1965, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church she was united in marriage to James H. Stratman. Susan was employed by Western Publishing Co as a customer service representative retiring in 1990. Susan served as a 4-H Leader for many years. She enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, reading, game shows, rides along the lake, and playing the slots at Ho Chunk Casino. Sue loved going to the Wisconsin State Fair every year she could with her Sister Mary. Above all, Susan was a devoted wife and mother who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Jim; son and daughter -in-law, Christopher and Rochelle Stratman; siblings, Kenneth “Larry” (Karen) Merrill, Marshall “Jerry” (Marge) Merrill, Patricia “Pat” (Gary) Merrill-Rock, John (Barbara) Merrill, Kathy Merrill; in-laws, Richard (Carol) Stratman, Richard Sadlon; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Fetzer; in-laws, Thomas Stratman and Mary Jean Sadlon.
