Tasleem Haamid

Dorothy Mae Burnside was born in Louise County, Belzoni, Mississippi, on July 23, 1959, daughter of Henry and Mable (Nee: Oliver) Burnside. During her first marriage, she changed her name to Tasleem S. Haamid. Her spirit ascended to heaven January11, 2022. She survived 62 years on this earth.

She leaves behind 2 biological daughters, Tara Haamid of South Carolina, Shakeela Haamid Majors of Racine; grandchildren, John, Tiera, Lexus, AJ, and Rashad; 4 sisters, Annie Burnside, Fannie Burnside, Frankie Grant all of Racine, Marie Bowman of Los Cruces, NM; her uncle, Willie Davis of Chicago, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Mary Oliver and Mabel Burnside Liddell.

A Homegoing service will be celebrated, Monday, January 24, 2022, 11:00 am at the Maresh-Meredith and Acklam Funeral Home, with Pastor Joseph A. Pipes officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10- 11 am.
