Life Story / Obituary
Teresa Ann Bloomfield, age 75, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026, in Union Grove, Wisconsin. She was born in Des Moines, IA, December 27, 1950, daughter of the late Theodore and Mary (Nee: Reynolds) Sutton.
Teresa graduated from United Township High School, East Moline, Illinois, and earned an Associates Degree in Computer Science, Scott Community College, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Teresa was employed at Bituminous Insurance Company as a computer programmer, when she met her husband Leo R. Bloomfield. On May 2, 1981 in Viola, IL they were united in marriage. While she held a quiet, personal faith, she shared in the community of the Presbyterian Church alongside her husband. A talented cook known for her legendary potato salad, she had a passion for discovery – finding joy in the magic of cinema and the adventure of exploring the open roads of the United States. Above all she treasured the time spent with her family and dogs. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 45 years, Leo; children, Robert Congrove, Douglas Congrove, Jason Bloomfield, Christen Bloomfield (Alan Marek); 7 grandchildren, Devin, Morgan, Bobby, CJ, Brett, Chase, and Ryan; 3 great grandchildren, Eli, Karter and Truett; sister, Susan (Scott) Foltz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Sutton, Mary Bergman and Franklyn Bergman. Her brothers, Ronald (Donna) Sutton, Teddy (Hazel) Sutton and sister, Caroline (Arthur) Zelnio; Richard and Evelyn Bloomfield.
A memorial service will be held at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main Street, Racine, Wisconsin, with Pastor Jenny Gleichauf officiating. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service at the funeral home for visitation at 10:00 AM with the service honoring her life and spirit at 11:00 AM. Luncheon to follow.
The service will be live streamed and may be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/meredithfuneralhome/
In honor of her love for the open road and American landscape, memorials may be made to the National Park Foundations (www.nationalparks.org) or to Covenant Presbyterian Church in Racine, Wisconsin.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Aurora Health Care, Oak Ridge Care Center, and St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care and kindness shown to her during her time there. Additionally, thanks to Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home staff, honorary pall bearers Racine VFW Post 1391 and Pastor Jenny Gleichauf.
