Life Story / Obituary
Theresa Ann Devine, “Teri”, age 68, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee. Teri was born August 25, 1949, in Racine, daughter of Richard and Mary (Nee: Szondi) Barrows.
She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1967” and earned a B.A. Degree in English from U.W. Parkside. On July 18, 1971, at Maplecrest Country Club she was united in marriage to Thomas J. Devine. Teri worked as a bookkeeper for Teeter Warsh and as Executive Vice President/Treasurer for Cyclo TNT. She was an incredible, kind, gracious woman who loved being outside and appreciated a fine glass of red wine. She was a superb hostess of family gatherings. Diagnosed with thyroid cancer two years ago, Teri never gave up. She never complained and maintained a brave outlook of an optimistic future even through countless radiation and chemotherapy treatments, hospitalizations and pain. Teri was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Tom; daughter and son-in-law, Kerry and Michael Jude; granddaughter, Alice; her mother, Mary Barrows; sister, Kathy (Gene) Butterfield; brother, Richard “Skip” (Teresa) Barrows; sister-in-law, Camille (Larry) Eisenman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Barrows.
Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Saturday, January 20, 2018, 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Noon. A time of Remembering will begin at noon with a reception to follow. Memorials to St. Jude's Children's Hospital have been suggested.
