Thomas Joseph Tighe, age 60, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Friday, November 29, 2013, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. He was born in Racine, June 18, 1953, son of the late Robert and Irene (Nee: Getz) Tighe.

Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1970- 1973. On July 21, 1973 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Kathleen M. McMahon. Tom was employed by In-Sink-Erator. He was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and the Racine Harley Owners Group. He enjoyed time spent with his grandkids vacationing at Disney World, Eagle watching, and riding his Harley with his wife. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Kathy; daughter, Teresa (Christopher) McMahon; 3 grandchildren, Delaney, Keagan, and Quinn; sister, Florence Weidner; brothers, John Tighe, Martin (Sandy) Tighe, Terrence Tighe; brother-in-law, Robert (Roxanna) McMahon; special friends, Paul (Grace) Supko, Ray (Maraloy) Plourde, Dan (Linda) Kretzer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Agnes McMahon, and a brother-in-law, Daniel (Sally) McMahon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 6, 2013, 11:00 A.M. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Ave, with Reverend Allen Bratkowski officiating. Private interment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Thursday at the funeral home, 4-7 P.M. (Prayer Service at 5:30 P.M.) and on Friday at the church 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Lung Assn, Vietnam Veterans or the Wounded Warrior Project have been suggested.
