With his family by his side, Timothy James Atkinson, age 79, passed away at his residence Thursday, April 23, 2026. He was born in Racine on March 14, 1947, son of the late Clair and Viola (Nee: Theilen) Atkinson. He spent his life rooted in the Racine community, where he built a reputation as a hardworking, dependable man and a devoted family member.
Tim was a graduate of Washington Park High School, “Class of 1965”. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On November 16, 1968, Tim married the love of his life, Patricia Louise Ayotte. Together they built a life centered on family, loyalty, and quiet strength.
Tim dedicated over 50 years of his career as a supervisor at Twin Disc, Inc., retiring in 2015. His strong work ethic and leadership left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army, carrying that sense of duty and discipline throughout his life.
Tim found joy in the outdoors and was an avid member of the Sportsman Gun Club. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, passions that brought him both peace and connection with friends and nature.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his children, Mark (Rachel Leech) Atkinson, Luke (Anika) Atkinson, and Kristin Atkinson; and his cherished grandchildren, Nathaniel (Allison) Atkinson, Nicole (Josh) Haefner, and Brianna Van Nort. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Holden, Aiden, Charlie, and Kohen; his sister Mary McGue; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald Atkinson, Gerald (Betty) Atkinson, and sisters Lorraine (Carl) Janz and Carol Briscoe.
Timothy will be remembered for his steady presence, his dedication to his family, and his love of the outdoors. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he built.
