Timothy J. LaFleur, age 72, passed away peacefully Monday evening April 6, 2026, at his residence. Timothy was born in Racine on April 12, 1953, the third child of seven of the late Thomas and LaVerne (nee: Freres) LaFleur.

Tim graduated from Wm. Horlick High School “Class of 1971”. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from UW-Parkside and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. He relocated to West Virgina and was employed with the National Bureau of Labor Statistics from 1989-2016. Despite appreciating his time living in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Tim moved back to Racine following retirement in 2017 to be closer to his family. He was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. Tim had an intellect that surpassed most all in every room but was never boastful. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as his first cup of coffee each morning, a round of golf, Brewers games, and mystery novels. He especially enjoyed spending time with his many loving nieces and nephews.

Tim will be sadly missed by his siblings, Thomas LaFleur, Mary Kay (Richard) Sheforgen, Maureen (Dennis) Steeves and Monica (Greg) DaPra; brother-in-law, Rick (Diane) Johannes; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Tim was also preceded in death by his sister Marcia Johannes, brother Ted LaFleur and nephews Anthony and Andy Steeves.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 24, 2026, 11:00 am at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St., with Rev. Juan Camacho officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family prior to the mass, 9:30-11 am. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.

If desired, the LaFleur family suggests donations to https://www.heartofthenation.org for support of televised masses and prayer requests, or Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in support of the Hereditary Cancer Clinic. Please send memorial gifts to Aurora Health Care Foundation, 2025 Windsor Dr. Oak Brook, IL 60523 or online at https://secure.aahgiving.org. Thank you in advance for helping to sustain these causes in Tim’s memory.

The family is especially grateful to Dr. Michael Mullane and his team at Aurora Cancer Center.
