Valerie "Kissie" Oliver

Valerie Oliver, (affectionately called Kissie) age 63, transitioned from her earthly home on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Ascension Healthcare System in Racine, Wisconsin. Valerie was born on June 18, 1961 to Alonzo (Priest) Oliver and Ada Mae (nee: Wells) in Chicago, IL. At an early age the family relocated to Racine, WI.

Valerie attended the Racine Public School System and received her High School Diploma at Gateway Technical College. She was a first and foremost a homemaker and formerly employed by Adecco and Manpower in plant and office positions.

She treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, family and friends, loving to cook a variety of dishes.

Her passing leaves a void with her three daughters, Ada (Roosevelt Watson) Brumby of Atlanta GA; LaCharlotte (Keith Clay-Terrell) Brumby and Elaine Brumby both of Racine, WI; one brother Ricky (Michele) Oliver of Lowell, MA; special friend John Howard, bonus daughter Latricia Manning; father of her children, Kenneth Brumby all of Racine, WI. Twelve grandchildren, Justice and Matthew Hansen, Roshanae, Roosevelt Jr., and Roshaniya Watson of Atlanta, GA; Natasha Wilson, Taurean White Jr., Dalayshia Westmoreland and K’Asia Clay-Terrell; Keyara Hadley, Charles Bonner III, Jeremy Wright Jr., and Lyric Bonner; four great-grandchildren Amariyona Hollannd, Taeveyon Moye, Sy’Ncere McKnight and Leilani Bonner; sister-in-law Gladys Oliver and best friends Sheila Williams all of Racine, WI and Kathy Jackson of West Alllis WI. She will also be remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Valerie was predeceased by her parents Alonzo and Ada Mae Oliver; step-mother Annie Mae Oliver; brother Craig Oliver Sr., sisters Katherine and Elaine Oliver, great-grandson Sy’mere McKnight; nephew Darryl Oliver, nieces Keosha Oliver and Jahamarah Allen and best friend Audrey Hand.

A Celebration of Valerie’s Life Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday February 7, 2025. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. The service will be Livestreamed on the funeral home website.
