Vella Fern Nunn, age 60, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Glendale Complete Care and Rehabilitation. She was born in Brownsville, TN, March 2, 1964, daughter of the late James and Nancy (Nee: Deberry) Nunn moving to Racine with her family at the age of 5.

Vella graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1982”. She worked many years as a data processer and secretary for a variety of businesses. Vella was a very loving and caring person who enjoyed collecting elephants and her favorite snack a taco salad. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and high pitch laugh. Above all Vella treasured time caring for her children and grandchildren. She was at her happiest being a granny.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Tenisha T. Tyce, Sequita S. Williams, DeMarcus R. Tyce, Sr.; 11 grandchildren, Janazjah, Samariyus, Nakiya, Rashea, Ahdeya, Zanthony, DeMarcus Jr., Dylan, Ethan, and D’eric; siblings, Bennie Nunn, Randy Reeves, Kirldy “Tanya” Nunn, Lawonda Judon; God daughters, Shanae Lawson, Shala Epps; God sisters, Carolyn Craft, Sheila Reynolds; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandchild, Angel Baby; siblings, Linda Adams, James Nunn, Milton Powell, Orlando Powell, Gus Davidson, Larry Wayne Davidson; and the love of her life and father of her children, Duncan Tyce.

A Homegoing celebration will be held at the funeral home, Friday, July 26, 2024, at 12 pm noon with Pastor Delwayne Stanford officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service 11am – 12 pm. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to driver Joe and nurse Mercedes Jackson for their loving and compassionate care.
