Victoria Bernice Kahoun, age 85, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Froedtert Hospital following a prolonged illness. She was born in Chicago, IL, August 19, 1933, daughter of the late Louis and Frances (Nee: Horobik) Zulawinski.
Victoria was an interior designer and had worked at Marshall Fields for many years. On February 14, 1993 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in West Dundee, IL she was united in marriage to Ira W. Kahoun. They moved to Racine 15 years ago and were members of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Racine Yacht Club. Victoria enjoyed photography and had some of her photos shown in local galleries. She also enjoyed her time at Hobby Lobby where she worked as a custom framer. Above all she treasured time spent with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her husband, Ira; 6 children, Charles (Gini) Herrmann, Jeanne Herrmann, Barbara Welch, James (Kathy) Herrmann, Carol (Mark) Ralph, Robert Herrmann’ 14 grandchildren, Rachael, Kelly, Brian, Elizabeth, Matthew, Danielle, Kurt, George, Nathan, Katie, Ethan, Christine, Robbie, and Nicholas; great grandchildren, Breanne and Colton; stepchildren, Calvin (Debbie) Kahoun, Clayton (Denis) Kahoun, Kimberly (Jim) Petrazelli; 7 step grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; sister, MaryAnn Zulawinski; in-laws, Katie (the late John) Kahoun, Tom (Cindy) Kahoun, and David Kahoun; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise.
Services will be announced and held at a later date. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church have been suggested.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Froedtert Hospital for their loving and compassionate care these past couple months.
