Wesley David Adrianson, “Wes”, age 91, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, at Wisconsin Veterans Home, Union Grove. He was born in Racine, April 20, 1922 son of the late Alfred and Theresa (Nee: Birchmeyer) Adrianson.

Wes graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1939”. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theatre of War. On June 3, 1953, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Beatrice M. Chadek. Wes owned and operated Universal Vibrating Screen Company, a manufacturing company that was started by his father that made screening machines for the food, sand and gravel industries. He was a music enthusiast and played jazz guitar for over 70 years. For many years he fronted his own band and in the later years he had played rhythm guitar with the John Bunic Big Band. Wes had also been active with the Kiwanis Club and in politics. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Beatrice; children, Stephen (Jane) Adrianson of Los Angeles, CA, Theresa Adrianson of Racine, Julie (Patrick Neary) Adrianson-Neary of San Geronimo, CA, Mary (Dale Rice) Adrianson-Rice of Burlington, WI; 5 grandchildren, Maxwell Rice, Sam Rice, Kate Rice, Wesley Adrianson the younger and Douglas Adrianson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald and his sister, Audrey Evensen.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday, July 19, 2013, 12:30 P.M. until time of service at 1:30 P.M.. Interment with full military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to your local school’s music program have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Veterans Home for their loving and compassionate care.
