Life Story / Obituary
Wilfred P. Legault
Racine-formerly of Brookfield
Wilfred P. Legault, age 86, died October 6, 2019. Wilfred was born in Kingsford, MI on December 25, 1932, son of the late Andy and Helen (nee: Kassin) Legault. He was affectionately known as “Wiss” and “Willie” to his family and friends.
Wiss graduated from Kingsford High School and then proudly served in the U.S. Army at the end of the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Marguerite Longhini on April 9, 1960. Wiss worked at General Electric for forty-two years, retiring in 1994. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years. He also enjoyed spending time in the Upper Peninsula. Wiss especially enjoyed, hunting and, golfing as well as “wintering” in Winter Haven, FL. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Wiss will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly sixty years, Marguerite; children, Craig (Deanna) Legault of Rockford, IL, Todd (Kathy) Legault of Bloomington, MN, Michelle Ritter of Duluth, GA; grandchildren, Andy (Laura) Legault, Janae Legault; great grandchild, Maria; siblings Marcella Izzo, Ray Legault; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Darlene Legault, Donna Legault, Carol DaPra and Richard Longhini; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave, Racine, 53404 on Tuesday October 15, 2019 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Ricardo Martin officiating. Visitation will be held at church from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Catholic Memorial High School, 601 E. College Ave. Waukesha, WI. 53186, have been suggested.
