Bill passed away at the age of 78 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born in Racine, WI on November 28, 1946, the son of the late Edward and Helen (Nee: Wojciechowski) Stickland.

Bill was a 1964 graduate of St. Catherine's High School and a 1969 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in Mathematics. He worked as a Systems Analyst for Unisys, The Burrows Company, Owens & Minor, Dell, and NTT Data North America until his retirement in 2017.

A lifelong Catholic, Bill was a proud member of Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago. He loved to travel, fondly recalling trips to Hawaii, Rome, The Vatican, and many other places across the US and Europe. A passionate golfer, he looked forward to annual vacations to play in Michigan and was proud to have played at Pebble Beach. He also loved attending Badger football games with cherished friends, and cheering for the Packers, White Sox and Blackhawks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Dennis Stickland, and sister, Diane (Donald) Hoaglund.

Surviving are his nephew, Ross Hoaglund (Sarah Rinaldo); his nieces, Patti (Tim) Brossard, Shelli (Mark) Hicks, Terri Stickland (Tom) Sullivan, and Valerie Hoaglund; and his great nephews Jared Mueller, Donovan Hoaglund, and Miles Hoaglund.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral home, Thursday June 5, 2025, 11am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10-11am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Northwestern University Nervous System Tumor Bank.
