William E. Walrup Jr.

William E. Walrup Jr., age 59, passed away Friday, September 04, 2015 at his residence with his mother, wife and sons by his bedside. He was born in Water Valley, MS, May 19, 1956 the first born son of William and Emma (Nee: Bibbs) Walrup.

William was employed by Community Action Agency for many years in the weatherization department and lastly worked at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital as a valet driver. He was a member of Word of Faith Family Church. He had a great sense of humor and lit up any room he was in with laughter. William was a master of the grill and was well known for his ribs; he also enjoyed fishing, Sunday drives by the lake, working around the house and was a long time Bears fan. Above all he cherished time spent with his wife Donna and their sons. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Surviving are his soul mate of 34 years, Donna Rhodes Walrup; sons, Kito Hughes (Ericka Espinoza), London Rhodes (Heidi Gutzman) and William Walrup; grandson, Leroy William Rhodes; mother and father-in-law, Emma and Sammie Smith; sister Gaynell (Bobby) Warren; brothers, Steve (Winona) Walrup, James Walrup, Johnny Walrup; mother-in-law, Velma Payne; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Patti (Floyd) DeBow, Lisa Austin, Mary Choudry, Leroy Payne, O’Keith (Tushawn) Payne; uncle, Charles Taylor, special cousin, Edna Robbins; best friend, Cecil Carnes, nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father William Walrup Sr., brother Bobby Walrup and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jean Payne and Leroy Payne Sr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015, 9:00 A.M. at Shiloh Stronghold Church, 1836 Howe St. Interment will follow at Mound Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for visitation on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
