First, I want to thank our loving creator Jehovah God. On November 14, 1967, our beloved Willie Robert Henderson Jr. was born to his proud parents Willie Robert Henderson Sr and Bernadine in St. Louis, Mo.

Robert has always been different in a wonderful kind of way. Once you met him you couldn’t help but to have loved him. He had a heart filled with love for everyone, not just his family!! That’s the love, not the pain that he wants us to think about and focus on!

Robert would do anything, give you anything, whatever you needed from him at no charge. He truly loved us. Some people live a lifetime never knowing anyone like him. We were blessed we had him. We got to know the kind of love that God had in mind we he made man! We know how it feels to be helped and shown love because he wanted to, not because he had to. We had all of that when we had Robert in our life. He was ours, he belonged to us! What a blessing! I Thank God! I’m thankful that he knew and felt the love and appreciation others felt for him. Family far and near loved him.

He finally met his true love, LaToya, someone deserving of the love he gave, someone who truly loved him and showed it! Robert knew love was an action not just a feeling. We lost him but were blessed to have him. I taught my children love and Robert let his love shine until it couldn’t shine anymore. Thank you Heavenly Father for him. I’ll see you again in a little while in paradise here on earth! Willie had a great passion for fishing but it was time spent with his family that he cherished most.

Willie’s father preceded him in death. He leaves behind hearts that will never be the same, his loving wife, Latoya Henderson (Jackson); mother, Bernadine Cole (David); mother-in-law, Malinda Jackson; eight children, Chatouria, Lamontae, Raniya, Willie Robert III, Sharnell, Shaun, Jaquan and Kaquita, Nathaniel;11 grandchildren; 5 uncles; 6 aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Two sisters that loved him unconditionally and two brothers, Verastine Riley (Jay), Janetta Hicks (Andre), Eric Tubbs (Alex) and Ronnie Nicholson.

A funeral service celebrating Willie’s life will be held at the funeral home, 10:00 am, Friday, September 15, 2023, with Rev. Melvin Hargrove officiating. Entombment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Friday, 9:00 am until time service at the funeral home.
